2014 Ford Mustang GT 420 HP Bad Boy

Ford will soon be releasing the new 2015 Mustang GT model, but before then ford has one more year to produce the current 2014 Mustang GT model. While one might expect that Ford would simply just carry over the 2013 Mustang GT unchanged into the next 2014 model year, but no it looks there will be a few new options and colors available. According to sources a Ruby Red will replace Red Candy in the color palette, and Oxford White will take the place of Performance White. There will be two new appearance packages, one for the V6 mustang model and one for the GT Mustang model. There will be a new hood stripe available for the Mustang V6, and gloss black stripes will now replace the matte black stripes on the Shelby GT500 Mustang. On the downside, the Boss 302 Mustang will no longer be available, this Will end the model’s two year production run.

2014 Ford Mustang Changes/Specs:

  • Colors: Ruby Red replaces Red Candy. Oxford White replaces Performance White.
  • Base V6 Appearance Package option code 541.
  • Premium V6 Hood Stripe, option code 471.
  • Base GT Appearance Package option code 542.
  • GT/CS Mustang colors will be limited to Deep Impact Blue, Race Red, Black, Sterling Gray, Ingot Silver, and Oxford White.
  • Boss 302 Mustang no loner available.
  • Shelby GT500 matte Black stripes now replaced by Gloss Black stripes.

The GT Mustang 5.0 engine remains the same delivering 420 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque. The power-plant features twin independent variable camshaft timing an aluminum engine block and cold-air induction. The 5.0 also now has a compression ratio of 11:1 and cylinder heads designed to optimize the airflow. Every part under the hood, including the high energy coil on plug design, is designed to work in harmony. This lets the muscular engine breathe very efficiently and deliver 100 percent exhilaration every time you put the pedal to the floor. The exhaust delivering a distinctive throaty roar, is still Pure Mustang GT.

The 2014 Mustang GT now runs 4.3 seconds 0-60 mph, while the big monster Shelby GT500 beats it by 0.8 second. To bring you down from speed the 2014 Mustang did so  consistently with no brake fade at all and zero drama, largely do to the optional front Brembo brakes which helped haul it down from 60 mph in an impressive 107 feet.

The 2014 Ford Mustang GT Premium  does great burnouts if that’s your thing and it will do them over and over until the rear tires are burnt up and the pavement permanently marred. The Mustangs steering is still linear and very direct and its quicker steering rack now makes it easy to place the car tight fast turns.

The Mustang GT Track Pack includes: TORSEN helical differential with a 3.73:1 axle ratio, an Upgraded Boss302 Radiator, High Performance Brembo ( brake friction material upgrade) Upgraded front and rear brakes and booster. Unique front corner modules. 19 x9.0 premium painted (dark stainless) aluminum wheels that come with 255/40R19 Z-rated tires. Tire mobility kit and a Unique ESC module tuning.
